Somersault is a book club for strangers. Every month you’ll be assigned a new book and paired up with a new partner to discuss. This can happen however you’d like - email, phone, Skype, text, etc. Members can also take part in group discussions via the Somersault slack channel.

The goal is to introduce you to a new book and new person every month, both of which you might not have come across otherwise. Book selection is varied and includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays.

We believe that:

  1. People should read more books, especially things they wouldn’t immediately choose.

  2. It’s important to read things you don’t necessarily agree with.

  3. Discussing those readings with new people makes well-rounded, better thinkers.

Somersault is community-driven and free to join with only two requirements:

  1. You must commit to being an active participant, which means reading the book each month and making time to discuss it. Don’t let your partner down!

  2. At some point during your membership, you need to invite two new people into the club. Bonus points if that person is dissimilar to you - age, income bracket, nationality, race, etc.
